One piece of steel

The first truly
plastic-free shaker.
100% stainless steel. Sealed with natural cork.

Every other “stainless” shaker still hides plastic spouts, silicone gaskets, or synthetic rubber seals that break down and smell within months. MONOLITH is a 100% stainless steel body sealed with a single ring of natural cork—the same material that has kept wine airtight for four centuries. No plastic. No silicone. No synthetics.

The problem with “plastic-free”

Premium steel shakers still leak, smell, and shed plastic.

The current best-seller in the segment is rated 2.3 out of 5 on Trustpilot. Here’s what real customers say about the leading “all-steel” bottle on the market today.

“Not plastic free. The drinking spout is plastic. The hinge sits right under your nose and after a couple of months it seriously stinks in all four of my bottles.”

Verified review · March 2026
★★

“The black rubber gasket breaks down. You’ll see black smudges from decomposing rubber around the drinking spout and inside the bottle.”

Verified review · February 2026

“Leaks non-stop after 2 months. Company sent replacements—those leak too. Apparently it’s a manufacturing defect they haven’t fixed.”

How MONOLITH is different

Two materials. Both natural. Nothing synthetic.

Every “premium” shaker hides at least one synthetic seal—silicone, rubber, or worse. MONOLITH uses two materials humans have trusted for centuries: 304 stainless steel for the body, and a single ring of natural cork for the seal. Both food-safe. Both recyclable or compostable. Neither sheds microplastics.

01 — BODY

Single alloy, head to toe.

AISI 304 food-grade stainless steel for body and lid. AISI 316 for the inner mixing ball. Nothing else. No coatings, no liners, no hidden plastics.

02 — SEAL

Natural cork, not silicone.

One precision-machined ring of food-grade natural cork (binder-free, suberin-bonded only). Cork is naturally hydrophobic and antimicrobial—the reason it has sealed wine for four centuries. It will not oxidise, leach, or smell like the silicone and rubber it replaces.

03 — LIFETIME

Lifetime body. €1 refill.

The steel body is warranted for life. The cork ring lasts 12–18 months of daily use; we ship a replacement set for €1, posted in a letter envelope. No O-rings to source. No silicone to warp. The only consumable is bark—and it is compostable.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Why natural cork instead of silicone or rubber?

Silicone and synthetic rubber are the parts customers complain about: they oxidise, take on smells, harbour bacteria, and shed microplastics. Cork solves all four. It is naturally hydrophobic, naturally antimicrobial, food-safe under EU 1935/2004, and compostable when you replace it. The same material has kept wine bottles airtight for four centuries. The trade-off is honest: cork wears down faster than steel, so the seal needs replacing every 12–18 months. We ship a binder-free natural cork refill for €1 in a letter envelope.

How do I replace the cork seal?

The cork ring sits in a machined seat inside the lid and lifts out by hand—no tools. After 12–18 months of daily use you will see it compressing or developing surface marks; that is when to swap. The old ring goes into the compost. Refills are food-grade natural cork (binder-free, suberin-bonded) and ship in a letter envelope for €1. You can also stockpile a year’s worth in advance.

Can I put hot drinks in it?

No. MONOLITH is a single-wall bottle, not vacuum-insulated. Hot liquids would build pressure when sealed. We recommend protein shakes, water, cold brew, and pre-workout mixes.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Hand wash only. Aggressive dishwasher detergent shortens the life of the natural cork ring (and is unkind to the brushed steel finish). Hand washing takes 20 seconds, preserves the cork, and keeps the body looking new.

When does it ship?

Prototype validation runs through Q3 2026. The first batch of 1,000 units ships Q4 2026. Waitlist members get first access and early-bird pricing.

Where is it made?

The first batch is CNC-machined in the EU (Czech Republic / Slovenia) to guarantee tolerances. The natural cork is sourced from Portugal—the world’s largest producer of food-grade cork. Future batches may move to Taiwan or South Korea for precision volume manufacturing. Never mass-line China for this product—the seal seat must be machined to a precise fit so the cork ring compresses evenly.

How is this different from BOLDE or Devoted?

Both use silicone seals, and BOLDE’s drinking spout and hinge are plastic. MONOLITH has zero plastic, zero silicone, zero synthetic rubber. The only non-metal part is a single ring of food-grade natural cork—a material that has been proven in food contact for centuries and is compostable when you replace it. If your priority is truly removing plastic and synthetics from your daily protein shake, MONOLITH is currently the only option on the market.
